Animal Assisted Therapy
In my counseling office I offer Animal Assisted Therapy. It has been clinically proven that through petting, touching and talking with animals, blood pressure is lowered, stress is relieved and depression is eased. The presence of a friendly dog often promotes a general feeling of well being. The four-footed therapists of Animal Assisted Therapy provide something medical science can’t do, without the use of drugs.
Annie - Faith’s four-footed co-therapist
Annie is a gentle, quiet, therapy dog who works in my counseling office. She sees her work as providing acceptance and comfort to my clients. Generally, the effect of her loving presence is to increase pleasure, calm anxiety, and decrease stress.
Therefore, in the counseling office she adds to a therapeutic environment that facilitates quicker growth and healing.
Annie is always glad to meet clients in the counseling office. Annie is an AKC Papillon
In order for Annie to work in my counseling office I have had her professionally obedience trained and she participates in continuing education towards the goal of professional certification.
Annie only works part-time in the counseling office. If you would like to have her in your sessions, be sure to ask for an appointment time when she is available.
