The way I work as a counselor.
My theoretical frameworks
It is my attitude that you are created as a person of value. No matter what the source of your distress: random life circumstances, your own choices, or the choices of others, I will not judge you. I want to create a setting in which you can explore those parts of your life that are not working well or that may be causing you pain. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside of you during the distressing times of life. That is when there is opportunity for change.
The Child of My Dreams
Vision can become a positive goal to work towards for the future. On the other hand, a fantasy is a product of the imagination, an unreal mental image, a daydream. Before I became a mother I had an image in mind of how this would be. After nine months of a joyful, easy pregnancy, I would have an untroubled delivery and give birth to the child of my dreams. However, reality broke into my dreams and changed my focus.
Forgiveness in Clinical Practice
Many clients come to therapy because they have experienced considerable injustice from others. Forgiveness has been shown to be one of the direct routes to effectively reducing a client’s anger, anxiety and depression while increasing their sense of hope and self-esteem in a way that is constructive and healing. One popular definition of forgiveness is to “cease to feel angry or resentful towards” someone. However, there is no simple or easy way for clients to cease to feel such emotions. Forgiveness is not simply excusing or forgetting.

Sad During the Holidays
The holidays are not always happy for everyone. It is Christmas. I love the joyful attitude. I take pleasure in the happy faces of the children. It is a time to remember the great gift God gave us. Unto us a Savior is born... It is a time to think of others, time for an extra focus on giving and sharing. A time of joy and singing. It is also a time of sadness for some of us. This is one woman’s quiet reflections on the holidays.

What is Talk Therapy, Counseling?
What is talk therapy, counseling? Counseling is a way you can make your life better. The Benefits of Counseling
Counseling can provide you with effective relief from your distress. Studies have shown that talk therapy works as well as pills do for depression, anxiety and other disorders. Actually, it works better, if you take into account the lower relapse rate. The advantage of cognitive therapy (over drug therapy) is that it seems to keep working even after the therapy sessions are over. Often a majority of those who are treated with medications alone may relapse. But the majority of those treated with talk therapy continue to do well. A cost-benefit analysis shows that while cognitive therapy may be as expensive as drug treatment to start with (since it involves extended one-to-one sessions with a highly trained specialist); it is cheaper in the long run
